How to calculate shipping weight?
The shipping weight / Volume weight / dimensions weight is generally, used for the door delivery by Air.
The wooden temples are not shipping based on the actual weight. Since the packaging box will be a bulky box, the shipping rates will be calculated based on the volume to the packaging box.
The volumetric weight, sometimes called "dim" or dimensional weight, is used when the space a shipment takes on an aircraft may cost more than the shipment's actual weight.
How the dimensional weight is calculated ?
All the major shipping companies such as FedEx, UPS and DHL use the dimensional wight rules to all the packages.
You should calculate dimensional weight on every shipment, and compare that to its actual weight, and use the greater of the two to determine your shipping cost. Volumetric weight for international shipments is calculated using the formulae below.
Length x Width x Height in centimeters / 5000 = Volumetric Weight in kilograms rounded up to the nearest 0.5kg
